It will be a classic if that is anything to go by.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
i might have to watch it again but that looked like a clear win for degale to me 3 rounds to 1 imo.
I know amateur scoring is a load of dog wank but it looked as though Groves only won the final round.
I like Groves and would love to see him win next month but not sure he will. both acted with class after the decision, bit of a celebration after for groves then when he went to speak to degale, degale wasn't interested and looked like a sore loser he could have at least shook hands. Maybe thats just me.
Degale looks vulnerable with his hands low but Groves might struggle to take advantage. Either way i got my ticket and i can't wait!![]()
It was close and Degale is a sore loser.

Amateur scoring isn't based upon rounds, it works upon an idea of scoring punches. I've noticed people who haven't boxed tend to put a pro slant on amateur fights and expect it to be the same (sorry that isn't supposed to read as patronising as it does). Their two very different games, and to be honest being an amateur fighter myself, I tend to enjoy myself and get a lot more value for money at club shows then I do at 90% of pro shows.
As it is, I think DeGale landed a few more scoring punches over the bout and probably edged it, but his behaviour to a fellow clubmate is a joke. Two of our boys, Charlie Harrison & Craig Whyatt had to fight each other in the ABAs, and Craig lost a very close Majority Decision that most of us including myself thought he'd won. As disappointed as he was (considering he's been working towards it all year), he made sure the first thing he did was congratulate Charlie.
I still like DeGale, and I know a lot of people who say he's cool, and I think he's got the potential to go further than Groves so I'll still root for him, but you're representing your club when you behave like that.
complete pick`em that was but i suspect if you spoke to the majority of "boxing" fans that night they would tell you de gale won that
makes me even more convinced that JDG will have him out of there inside 8rounds, i honestly thought groves gave him a lesson in the amateurs, he most certainly did not
one dangerous horrible bloke
i think its a stamina thing
i think they are evenly matched and in the first 6-8 rounds it could go either way, in fact i think groves hits a bit harder so he has a chance of an earlyish knockout
i reckon tho degale is so relaxed and waists so little energy he will still be fresh when it moves to the middle rounds, where as groves has quite and energetic style
