Hatton Boxing: Matthew Hatton vs. Lovemore N’dou For IBO Title Nov 13

By Boxing Press October 5th, 2009 All Press Releases

On Friday, November 13, Matthew Hatton will challenge for the IBO Welterweight title against seasoned South African Lovemore N'Dou at Stoke's Fenton Manor.

Matthew will top the show being promoted by older brother and boxing star Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton MBE.

Ricky's company, Hatton Promotions, are staging the first ever World Championship to be held in Stoke and a full house is expected.

A spokesman for Stoke's Impact Boxing said earlier, "Stoke finally has a football team in the premier league, and now we have a premier boxing promoter staging a major TV show as well.

"With the talent that the Hattons will be bringing together with some of our own boxers, demand for tickets is definitely going to be high".

When asked why Stoke, Ricky responded, "When I boxed Mayweather in Vegas, there seemed to be hundreds of people from this area there. They were a lively bunch and kept asking me when would I box
In Stoke.

"Well, as you know, I'm on a bit of a break at the moment but I've done the next best thing in bringing my promotional company and the Sky TV cameras. I've also secured a world title fight for my brother Matthew, who will top the bill.

"Hopefully this will be the first of many events that we will hold in the area and I'm expecting a great night of boxing".

Scott Lawton of Impact Boxing is already booked to box on the bill and is moving down a weight in a fresh hunt for a British title. "I can't wait to box on this show. I've already been to a couple of Hatton promotions and they really do put on a great show. There will be big screens up and it's just like being at a big Vegas show.

"I'm hoping that this move down to super featherweight will really suit me as I think I can keep my strength at that weight and I should have quite a reach advantage over the other lads in the division".

Ticket prices are £150, £85, £50 and £30. Box Office 0161 775 7500, TicketLine 0844 888 9991 or www.ticketline.co.uk.
