European Boxing News: Kessler, Mock, Kabinejad, Kristjansen

By Per Ake Persson

Kamran Kabinejad both co-promoted and headlined a small hall show in Orebro, Sweden, earlier this week. Kabinejad, 3-0 and fighting at junior middle, looked good in outscoring Latvian Sergej Volodin over four and received a standing ovation from the crowd at the packed Mellringhall.

Sauerland Event introduced their new prospect, Robert Helenius, to the Swedish crowd. Helenius was born in Sweden and have fought here as an amateur but had most of his career in Finland and then in Germany.

Robert, now 2-0, floored Czech David Vicena in the third but had to settle for a unanimous decision after four.

Once touted middle Tonton Semakala survived a third round knockdown to beat Sergey Savrinovics from Latvia over four. This was very likely Tonton´s last fight.

He´s still good but is now also doing very well as a trainer for an amateur club in Stockholm

Team Palle have now presented the undercard to the Kessler vs. Sartison show 21 in Brondby. Unbeaten cruiser Anders Hugger faces Brazilian Robert Martins, heavyweight Claus Bertino is in against Hungarian Laszlo Hubert, lightweight Martin Kristjansen squares off against Wellington De Jesus, also from Brazil.

The opponent for Kessler´s chief sparring partner Lolenga Mock isn´t ready yet. Ronni Tiller, a 23-year old heavyweight from Norway, will make his pro debut on the show.
