  • Curry and Scott Set for an Epic Clash for the WBA Middleweight World Title – World Boxing Association

Curry and Scott Set for an Epic Clash for the WBA Middleweight World Title – World Boxing Association

On September 19, the historic Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan, will host a pivotal night for women’s boxing as American contender Olivia Curry (7-2-1, 2 KOs) squares off against Australia’s Kaye Scott (4-1) for the WBA middleweight world championship.

Curry, 35, comes in hungry for glory after carving out a career built on resilience. With a deep amateur background and a rapid rise through the professional ranks, she’s forged a style based on relentless pressure, grit, and a hardened mindset polished fight after fight. Fighting in her hometown, with the Detroit crowd behind her, could give her the emotional lift she needs to capture her first world title.

Scott, 41, brings experience in spades—particularly from the amateur scene. The Sydney native is a decorated international campaigner, with medals from the Commonwealth Games and continental championships. Despite coming off a surprising setback against Desley Robinson, she returns with the aim of reclaiming her place among the elite and proving that her skillset still belongs at the championship level.

This promises to be a compelling contrast of styles: Curry’s aggression and volume against Scott’s precision and ring IQ. Beyond the belt, the fight carries high stakes in terms of international recognition and the chance to unlock new doors in a division that has gained more visibility in recent years.

It’s a matchup with storylines that resonate: Curry, the hometown symbol of perseverance, versus Scott, the seasoned technician and ambassador of experience.

  • Ljungquist and Bulabula to Clash for Historic WBA Baltic Title – World Boxing Association

Ljungquist and Bulabula to Clash for Historic WBA Baltic Title – World Boxing Association

On September 13 at the Sydbank Arena in Kolding, Denmark, hometown favorite Kem Ljungquist (19-1, 10 KOs) will square off against German-Congolese heavyweight Daniel “Black Lion” Bulabula (8-0, 6 KOs) for the inaugural WBA Baltic heavyweight title, marking the first time this newly created regional strap will be contested under the banner of boxing’s oldest sanctioning body.

Ljungquist, 33, a former Danish Olympian, is looking to reestablish his footing in the division after nearly a year on the sidelines. At 6’6” with a technical approach, he’s picked up solid wins over Benoit Huber and Kamil Sokolowski, and already has a rematch with Huber lined up for November. But before that, this bout gives him the chance to secure a regional belt and edge closer to the international rankings.

Bulabula, 35, comes in unbeaten with six knockouts in his first eight outings. Known for his raw power and aggressive style, the “Black Lion” aims to spoil Ljungquist’s homecoming and stamp his name on the European heavyweight scene. His ability to close the gap and apply pressure early could turn this fight into a dangerous night for the Dane.

The WBA Baltic title, introduced this year, was designed to stimulate the growth of professional boxing across Northern and Central Europe. And with two contrasting heavyweights set to battle it out, fans can expect fireworks from the opening bell.

  • WBA Continental Super Welterweight Title Clash in Belfast – World Boxing Association

WBA Continental Super Welterweight Title Clash in Belfast – World Boxing Association

On September 13, the Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park in Belfast will host a pivotal showdown on the European circuit, as undefeated Irishman Caoimhin “Black Thunder” Agyarko (17-0, 7 KOs) takes on Britain’s Ishmael “The Black Panther” Davis (13-2, 6 KOs) for the WBA Continental super welterweight crown.

For Agyarko, 28, this is a career-defining moment on home soil. Known for his explosive style and sharp movement, he’s already turned back the likes of Troy Williamson and Grant Dennis. Now, with his first WBA regional title on the line, he’s eager to cement himself as a legitimate world contender. “Fighting for a belt in Belfast is a dream come true,” Agyarko said in the build-up. “I’m ready to show I belong at the top level.”

Davis, 30, from Leeds, comes in with redemption on his mind after back-to-back defeats, the most recent a stoppage loss to Serhii Bohachuk last December. A pressure fighter who thrives on breaking opponents down, Davis believes he can flip the script as the underdog. “I didn’t come here just to make up the numbers—I came here to win. Agyarko’s never been in with someone like me,” he declared.

Both men weighed in around 153.5 pounds in their most recent outings and share a similar stance, though their approaches differ. Agyarko prefers controlling range and counterpunching, while Davis thrives in the trenches, pushing a high pace and exchanging on the inside.

With local pride on the line and a WBA belt at stake, Belfast is set for a fiery battle between two fighters with everything to prove.

  • Brittany Sims Shines, Claims WBA International Bantamweight Title – World Boxing Association

Brittany Sims Shines, Claims WBA International Bantamweight Title – World Boxing Association

American contender Brittany “Eagle Flex” Sims (9-3, 5 KOs) captured the WBA International bantamweight crown with a commanding unanimous decision over Spain’s Natalia Francesca (7-6, 0 KOs) in the main event at the Wind Creek Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The judges’ scorecards told the story: 99-91, 99-91, and 96-94, all in favor of Sims, who dictated the pace from start to finish over ten rounds.

From the opening bell, Sims showcased superior accuracy and ring generalship, working behind a sharp jab that set up crisp combinations. Francesca pressed forward with grit and determination, trying to close the distance and apply pressure, but she couldn’t land the kind of punches that would turn the tide. The Spaniard did enjoy some bright moments in the middle rounds—particularly the sixth and seventh—but Sims stayed composed and closed the show with authority.

With the win, Sims notched her ninth professional victory and solidified herself as one of the rising forces in the bantamweight division. The WBA International title now positions her for bigger opportunities on the world stage, where she’s already being looked at as a potential challenger for major hardware.

For Francesca, the loss still carried positives. She displayed resilience, maturity, and the ability to hang tough against international opposition, further cementing her status as one of Spain’s standard-bearers in women’s boxing.

Sanctioned by the pioneering World Boxing Association, the bout underscored both the steady rise of women’s boxing in the United States and the vital role of regional titles in paving the way toward global contention.
