Re: Why people won't hate on Miguel Cotto for fighting Manny Pacquiao
Its not hating its just that when mayweather fights people you already know he's gonna win cause he goes for money fights and not high risk fights. I've been dying to see mayweather fight a Mosley or Cotto or williams. And the reason i call those names out because these guys are in his weight class who are dangerous and deserving. How is it that he hasn't fought these people??? money???? well what happened to having balls and taking dangerous fights??? Pacquiao is moving up showing balls making this cotto fight moving up. Mayweather returning having people move up in 2 weight classes likes its no good fights at welter... what would be the difference in fight cotto mosley or wililiams when it comes 2 pound 4 pound??? I dont understand and Mayweather fans wanna help me understand??

To be fair against Pacman I don't think he's ever fought at a catch weight in any of his fights yet. And I believe it should be that way. And some may say what about the Oscar fight? As I've stated before it's unreasonable to have the guy jump 3 weight classes to fight Oscar from 135 so they met at the 147 limit.
Very well said... PAC never fought at catchweight before... The Hoya "catchweight" is very well justified since the 2 boxers being 3 divisions apart... Why not give PAC one catchweight fight before he retires?? ...

Well Cotto has Mosley, Berto, P. Williams, maybe even Mayweather, but he accepts a fight from the smaller Pacquiao.
The point I am making is that in both cases the Mayweather-Marquez and the Pacquiao-Cotto fight, the best fighter will win no because of size, but because of skill and natural ability.
Cotto has already fought Mosely, Margarito, and Clottey; three of the top five fighters in his division. No one will trash him for fighting Pacquiao because he's fought the rest of the division already. Mayweather hasn't fought even one of the top five welterweights.
Other than Freddie Roach who questioned why PBF didn't wait until after the Pacquiao fight to choose his next fight, no one talks about why Mayweather isn't fighting Pacquiao now, only why Mayweather won't fight a top five welterweight.
Baldomir was the unified champion when Mayweather beat him, and Judah was the unified champ right before Baldomir beat him, and he was in the top 5 when he faced floyd.
Also who is coming off the two year layoff? Can someone refresh my memory about how JMM-Pacman I and II went? Did Marquez not stand his own against Pacquiao, and clearly showed he is in the very highest caliber of fighters? Isn't it Cotto and not Mayweather that is a natural welterweight? Isn't Cotto and not Mayweather who actually uses size to his advantage?
Re: Why people won't hate on Miguel Cotto for fighting Manny Pacquiao
Well because Mayweather has not fought Cotto, Mosley or Margarito and lets no forget about the likes of Clotty and Williams either. Stop all this hes not a welterweight he not making it for any other division. And he chose to go up to the weight so all the crap he gets it is his fault.

Pac hasn't fought anyone at a catchweight because no one is quick to take that boobytrap. Everyone saw what the catchweight did to DLH. And lets keep it real. Pac has tried to get every welterweight at a catchweight. Roach even said he wouldn't let Pac fight any welterweight at 147 except PBF. I wonder why? The smallest welterweight is deemed a 147 pound fight and the bigger welterweights must drop below 147. They want them drained just like DLH. Its very tactical for them and very dangerous for the opponent. Although Mosley said he would agree to the catchweight and short money. I am curious why Pac and Roach didn't take Mosley up on his offer after he called their bluff. Must've deemed it was still too dangerous.

Pacster KO 6 Cotto. Fact.
Pacster SD Floyd. Fact.
PBF TKOs Pac FACT
Cotto TKOs Pac FACT

Pacster definitely KO's Cotto. You see Cotto the weekend? He will look like he's fighting in treacle compared to Pacster. Pacster will beat him to a pulp inside 6. Fact.
:vd: I actually expected better from you. How stupid of me

Margarito is a joke, did you see what MOsley did to him? Cotto fought MOsley weeks before Mayweather fought Hatton, how could have a fight between him and Mayweather been reasonable until after Cotto fought Mosley? ANd by then Mayweather had a contract with Hatton, then he was suppose to fight Oscar again like most people wanted.
Mayweather jumped to 154 to face Oscar, why aren't you complaining that he didn't face the top 154 pounders? Why don't you complain about why Mayweather in 2007' didn't face the best guys today, which weren't the best guys back then.
Clottey was legitimately in the discussion, either was Mosley or Cotto or WIlliams or Margarito. But dont' say Mayweather didn't fight the top WW's when he won the belt, he got the linear championship somehow. PS. I think people should watch the Baldomir-CLottey fight because despite the fact Clottey was winning, it was a pretty competitive fight.

I love the hypocritical nature of boxing.
why hate cotto? imo i think pac can beat cotto even on 147 so it ain't a debate about mismatches either. cotto is'nt the same after that margo fight (that jennings fight don't mean a thing) so that adds to my point.
him and pac in the ring can be equated as: exciting fighter + exciting fighter = an exciting fight. plus what pac did against hatton and hoya made people respect him: he is really a one in a million guy that can jump off weights and beat the best guy in there. imo the only two guys that can post a challenge for him is pbf and jmm (the latter being pac's kryptonite.)
Re: Why people won't hate on Miguel Cotto for fighting Manny Pacquiao
Teath he was the legit champ yet when he comes back has no thought i defending or trying beat out the top guys thats why people are on him. As for Oscar he is a cash cow only reason he fought him nothing else. Teah say what you want but if he does not face top ww then he is going to get crap about it he has all the power in world to make the fights we while see i guess hes got alot of skills but his resume could be better and i hope he does alot of good fights to happen.

I know your being sarcastic but im not sure if you still think Manny Pacquiao, will actually beat Miguel Cotto so i'll reply anyway.
Joshua Clottey stood straight in front of Miguel Cotto, and is way bigger than Manny Pacquiao.
Manny Pacquiao would be on the move constantly, he wouldn't stand his ground vs Miguel Cotto. He would rely on his footwork and speed.
Now i think Manny Pacquiao is a really good fighter, but i think he's being a bit overrated here.
Ricky Hatton was on the slide yes it was an impressive victory, and it wouldn't of mattered what Ricky Hatton turned up.
But still Ricky Hatton hasn't been the same since the Kostya Tszyu fight, ODLH was weight drained and rubbish. He hadn't fought at Welterweight in god knows how many years. And David Diaz is just mediocre.
I don't see how any of these fights prove that Manny Pacquiao, stands any chance against Floyd Mayweather Jr or Miguel Cotto. Or that Manny Pacquiao stands a chance against any top Welterweight, he hasn't fought a live-fighter at Welterweight yet.
Floyd Mayweather Jr still totally outboxes Manny Pacquiao, by atleast 8 rounds to 4. Anything JMM can do Floyd Mayweather Jr will do better. And Miguel Cotto will be too physical and too strong, and his body shots will be the key especially the way Manny Pacquiao leaves his body exposed, and he'll stop Manny Pacquiao late on.

That fact that Pacster would use his speed movement is the reason he'd KO Cotto.
When he KO's Cotto, you will be making excuses for that win too.. "Cotto was never the same after Margarito" .. "Cotto was on the slide" .. "Cotto was always chinny" .. "Cotto was weight drained"
Excuses, excuses, excuses. You can make excuses for every fighters loss.
IF Cotto beats Pacster it means Pacster was too small. Fact.

No i wouldn't Miguel Cotto is still very much the same fighter, but i think the excuses above are valied.
Because pretty much everyone agrees ODLH was a weight drained punchbag, and alot of fighters would of beaten that version of ODLH.
And i think everyone agrees Ricky Hatton hasn't been the same since Kostya Tszyu fight, and people have been saying that even before the Manny Pacquiao fight.
Carlos Quintana may not be as good as Manny Pacquiao, but he is a slick fighter with good movement. Yet Miguel Cotto soon caught up to him.
I haven't seen any performance from Manny Pacquiao that leads me to believe, he would stand a chance against Miguel Cotto or Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Pacster would have beat Hatton at any time of Hatton's career. Watch the Magee fight.
Oscar was a shriveled mess, yes, but that doesn't mean any fighter would have slaughtered him the way Pacster did.
You're the excuses king, ICB, don't try and make out you wont be making excuses. ;)

Didn't i just say Manny Pacquiao would of beaten any version of Ricky Hatton ? but you can't just base that on one performance.
ODLH was rubbish in that fight any top 147 pound fighter, would of beaten ODLH like a red headed step child. ODLH hasn't fought at Welterweight since 2001 agaisnt Arturo Gatti, and the last time he was below 146 was in 1997 against Miguel Angel Gonzalez, if that isn't proof enough i don't know what is.
You know it and i know it, don't try and make out that Manny Pacquiao, is the only fighter that would of beaten a weight drained ODLH like that.
Because that is reaching just to try and prove your point, when the fact is ODLH was rubbish and he was rubbish in sparring aswell. Getting the crap knocked out of him by the smaller Victor Ortiz.
Im the king of excuses since when ? i give fighters credit but if there is circumstances surronding a certain fight. Then yes i will point it out like everyone else does on here.
Re: Why people won't hate on Miguel Cotto for fighting Manny Pacquiao
;D This isn't rocket science, Cotto is the underdog, why would he be criticized for taking a fight most people think he will lose.
