This means that Cotto is now where Floyd was in 2003/4

Floyd's opponents after the Castillo fight then were Victoriano Sosa, Philip N'Dou, DeMarcus Corely, Henry Bruseles and Arturo Gatti.

I'm a huge fan of Floyd in the ring and believe he's deserving of the best p4p title but in being awarded that accolade you are expected to live up to it.

Cotto so far is doing very well in his career. Wins over Malignaggi, Quintana, Mosely and Judah put him at the same level near enough to where Floyd himself was in 2003.
Sorry bro but i think u wrong. cotto is where floyd was in 1998. People forget floyd was in lb4lb rankings 2 years into the game . 2 years in the game cotto was fightin cezar bazan. IMO cotto is nowhere near floyd in skill nor career but people have to make it seem that way to give him credibility as the floyd-beater. I really dont care who cotto fights. He was fightin nobodies up until judah anyway so to me this is just him revertin back to his old self. I just dont like how everyone has something negative to say about floyd when the truth is the only person in the game whos done more is maybe bernard hopkins. I just think hes done enough in his career for people to not constantly talk smack about him. Hes earned the respect already.
While i get what u are saying about how PBF would be crucified if he fought someone like Gomez i think it is a bit much to say that Cotto fought nobodies before Judah.
He dispatched Quintana easily, and Carlos has proven himself a good fighter by beating Williams.
Urkal while not being a top guy has been a tough fight for anyone, he nearly beat Tszyu on points.
Malignaggi has gone from strength to strength since fighting Cotto.
Torres is a champ.
Even guys like N'dou Abdulev and Corley arent gimme fights.

So as i said i think u are right that the Floyd haters would be going nuts if PBF fought someone like Gomez, but dont weaken your argument by saying that Cotto hasnt fought many good opponents, cos he has.
Your right let me change that. he wasnt fightin nobodies. Lets just he was fightin weak opposition. I mean its no secret that after corley rocked him that he was matched up with featherfisted fighters until judah. I just see it like this if u can land clean on cotto u can hurt him and for that reason he dont need to be in the ring with floyd cause floyd will land more than judah and mosley. I dont have a problem with cotto. I like his style but when guys like him get beat its usually 9 out of 10 time a guy with floyds style who beats him.
