Can someone explain to me WHY GOMEZ gets to fight COTTO?

I mean its no secret that after corley rocked him that he was matched up with featherfisted fighters until judah. I just see it like this if u can land clean on cotto u can hurt him and for that reason he dont need to be in the ring with floyd cause floyd will land more than judah and mosley. I dont have a problem with cotto. I like his style but when guys like him get beat its usually 9 out of 10 time a guy with floyds style who beats him.

Winky wright stopped 18 of his first 25 opponents and everybody know he dont have power. But i get what u sayin. If you dont see the fighter fight the fight u dont really know. But when i see a guy with a high ko perentage i dont assume he has power. i just assume that he tries to get guys out of there. U gota remember they dont seperate kos and tkos when they show a record. I mean a guy could have 25 ko but 15 of them was tkos that were built up from accumulation. So that do necessarily mean he has power. U hit a rock long enough and eventually it will crack.

I mean even if you want to split hairs and say that a high KO record might just mean he wears them down with an accumulation of punches rather than one punch power I don't see how that makes them less dangerous?

Anyway Torres had 22 KO's in 24 fights going into the Cotto fight. I'm fairly sure when his team looked at him they didn't go 'yeah he looks like a powderpuff, Cotto will be safe with him'

Winky had/has power the fact that he has switched up his game and formed himself as one of the finest fighters of our times is another story.

Hopkins had awsome power early in his career. But because he chose a different route and decided to become a boxer that means he doesn't have power?

They said the same thing about Monzon when he went over there to fight Nino and look what happened. When the power is there you know it and to say Torres doesn't have it is wrong.
