Any consulation I think it does have to do with his race. For the last 3 days on ESPN all I been hearing is about Jeremy Lin and they keep pushing the point that he's the first Asian American in the NBA and how much he means to the asian american community and they were talking to them all day about it.
I think no matter what his race is he is the "story" right now and they are going to push and protect him. Because they talk about his greatness and even comparing him to greats like Clyde Frazier and ignoring the fact he averages around 8 turnovers a game.
He's just their hype job right now, he'll go back to being a normal player after another month or so, or when his team faces a team that has a point guard that knows what defense is.
