Well this is off topic, but unlike most "RUNNING" QB'S Cam Newton can actually throw the ball. He's not like Michael Vick in that he's a THROW FIRST QB, sure he's a tremendous athlete, but he's a solid QB with good fundamentals.....That said, Randall Cunningham had a very long career and Cam can throw better than Randall could, and he's bigger.
shza, people talk about all sorts of shit I don't want to hear about....I am no evangelical, but if that makes those people happy let them do it, who is the media to censor or mock them? Maybe the reporters should go on about their beliefs and then have someone mock their value system. Hell this issue has been around forever, baseball player Christy Matthewson (aka 'The Christian Gentleman') didn't even talk to reporters he heard were cheating on their wives.....I wish THAT would come back. Reporters aren't hardly people anyway....the muckraking sonsabitches!!!!
Floyd has confirmed one thing that I once saw on a poster years ago,":It is better to keep one's mouth closed than to open it and confirm he is an idiot." The media has made it's point for a few minutes of rating power and they love it. I do not defend Floyd but the hard work it takes an athlete to get on the team of his dreams or to play the game he loves is all that matters and without boxing or others to lend an ear or inadvertently hear this garbage Floyd is nothing and he should remember it is a sport and try not to drop your bar of soap Floyd. I have a great deal to say about remarks like that but I will do the right thing and hope he apologizes to that member of the Knicks.
Bet mayweathers licking his lips reading this thread knowing hes stirred up a few more thousand tickets.
No excuse for any type of racism in any type of sport no matter what creed or colour..especially as life all begun in africa..but thats another story.
From today's NY Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/20/sp...ft-out.html?hp
(the lede: "When was the last time a young, untested professional African-American athlete received the type of adulation Tim Tebow and Jeremy Lin have seen this year?")
No, they HAVE brought his religion up, however, they have emphatically denied that he is anything like Tim Tebow....which is a double standard in my view, but hey, the media members don't have to answer to anybody do they? They just have their little script and they follow it, they want to make up controversies and debate and sensationalize to get ratings.
I don't think Tim Tebow is all that great, but he has heart, he is a team player, he's a solid leader, and most importantly in the sports world he WINS! Same with Jeremy Lin. I understand it's an underdog story, and that's cool, but bringing in the minute details of race, ethnicity, religion, etc is all part of the sensationalism part of it and it's just not needed.
