OK let's say the word "comfortable" doesn't apply I'll just use the word "effective". Ricky Hatton was never "effective" at 147......are you happy now?

I'm always happy Lyle - Would he have been more "effective" against Floyd or Collazo at 140? I personally don't think so. If so, how? Floyd was even more of a beast at 140 so we can accurately hypothesise how that fight would have gone. Collazo has always been a welter so we can only speculate but I thought his style was simply troubling for Ricky.

It depends really. I think the fighters you mention are different altogether. Floyd is P4P one of the best & Collazo never would fight at 140. Now we could take some guys Hatton fought or could have fought at 140 that mimicked those styles and we can talk.
Ricky Hatton fought Paulie Malinaggi at 140 already and it was an orthodox pressure fighter vs a slick southpaw & Ricky did pretty damn good. Ricky was up 99-91 on all 3 cards & stopped Paulie in 11. Versus Collazo Ricky was held at bay the entire fight and failed to impress at all.
This Senchenko guy Ricky is supposed to fight seems a bit weak having read what happened in the fight vs Paulie....so maybe Ricky can dominate, he certainly should.
I don't think it's at all fair to compare Collazo and Mallignagi - They both lack power is about the only similarity I see. I don't find Mallignagi a slick fighter at all, he seems quite easy to hit in every fight I've seen and just uses his legs and reach from what I see. Collazo was awkward as hell. He could fight inside and hit you from awkward angles.
But yeah, I agree his comeback should answer many questions about where he is at this point and how much, if any toll his lifestyle has taken from him
