If he doesnt travel then hes plain scared of Froch. Froch wasnt scared going to Denmark and lost a close fight. Kessler knows now Froch has improved because he destroyed Bute. Kessler wanted Bute to win so he could fight Bute, but Froch messed up the plans. Also as I said before Hearn offered the third fight on neutral territory so celebrity in Denmark or not he should be a champion and face Froch in England for the second fight. If Kessler believes hes the best he should do it, because he needs to fight somebody better than the likes of Magee who Froch KO'd years ago.
My understanding is that they agreed it would be in the UK. The issue is Nottingham. Froch wants Nottingham but Kessler wants Manchester or London for easy access to airports for the Danish fans. Money was also agreed. I really am unsure what the issue is. Maybe Kessler wanted a unification fight and the IBF are blocking that from happening.
Carl Froch ridicules 'lamb to the slaughter' Adonis Stevenson | Boxing News | ESPN.co.uk
I love this interview. Apparently Froch gets told Stevenson said he'd knock Froch out and Froch says "well a tiger doesn't lose sleep over the opinion of a sheep". Genius.
To me though, they are basically advertising he will be fighting Stevenson. Kessler has gone quiet as a mouse, I'll be surprised if he is next now.
What these guys are scared of is not making as much money out of their career as they possibly could do. Kessler is not scared of fighting Froch but none of these guys are doing this for the good of their health, it's all down to money, especially at the end of their careers. They want all their last fights to be big money paydays to top their retirement funds up.
Kessler can probably make more in the long run defending his belt in Denmark than coming to England and losing a close one to Froch. The "probably" here is the key thing. If Hearn offers Kessler enough money then Kessler will take the fight. But only if it's in his economic interest, nothing at all to do with being scared. It's all about the benjamins baby.
When did Hearn offer a third fight and have Kessler's people said he made the offer?
Froch v Kessler will be a barn burner of a fight and probably a third instalment may be requested but that would be silly to do that at a neutral venue as they could sell it out in either fighters country. Either way they are fighting for second place as Ward is the premiere fighter in the division.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
He still will make a lot of money for fighting Froch though and it's not like he's been offered unfair terms IMO. If you read on the second page of this thread the Froch exclusive article I posted it says it there about the third fight.
I think it would be good if we could hear something from Kessler and his team because any news has all been from Hearn. I would like to see what the stumbling blocks in making the fight is from their eyes. But official news and not speculation. I hope something can be sorted though.
Hearn is full of shit. As the deadline to agreeing the mandatory gets closer Kessler's negotiating position getas stronger. A couple of days ago Hearn was claiming that the Stevenson fight was a big money fight and that HBO were interested in showing a fight between two non-Americans who've never been on HBO before. So he's not giving us the unvarnished truth. Sauerland won't either but if we knew what they were saying then we could guess better at the truth. Hopefully some Danish Saddoer chips in with what they're being told.
