The pivoting that I'm talking about is where the foot moves once while the other foot stays put. Wayne already clarified for various reasons that both feet must move. I agree with Wayne but my question is why are the other coaches not doing what he says to do?that again is move both feet?

Both feet move when you pivot, one rotates the other swings around. And pivoting is different from stepping, both are necessary at different times.

BCBud i cant say why they are teaching this all i can say is how i see it as being awkward for mobility after the punch. Like i said in another post a lot of coaches dont think about what they are doing this became apparent to me from a young age.

All i will say is i cant see any logic behind it myself having been shown more ideal ways of doing things.

You teach power. Very very few guys are born with power AND the ability/skill to apply it. The 'punchers are born' idea is nonsensical.
Same with the concept of letting a fighter find a way to make his footwork/balance work on his own. You teach it, very specifically and directly. Until he does it textbook. Then you help him find his adjustments; usually this will involve him being short or tall.
If you are calling yourself a trainer and telling guys to find something that works...
