Amazingly, Earnie had only been campaigning as a Professional for
22-Months.

It was an 'Earn While You Learn' campaign. Lots of bouts for small money.

Promoter/Manager {Dean Chance} had shipped Earnie out to Los Angeles
in May 1971 to train with Jerry Quarry.

Then, Earnie would travel into Nevada to have his monthly 'small venue' bouts there.
