Would you be upset if Barrera quit after the 1st round?? Would you call him a quitter??
.
I would have been dissapointed for the fight to end like that, but that is the worst cut I have seen in recent memory. If Barrera immediately agreed to a rematch upon the fight being declared a NC then Barrera wouldn't be labelled a quitter. I recall the Guerrero cut being less serious than this was.

Barrera is too much of a warrior and his corner should have been forcing him to stop. Mistakes were made out there, and Khan now has the scalp of MAB on his record because of it.
There you go, Guerrero's cut is less serious but he quit...

Barrera decided to fight on despite a very serious cut and lost by technical decision...

During the course of the fight, do you have any inkling that Barrera might land that one big punch that can turn the fight around??
Barrera should have quit, but I'm not the guy in Barrera's head controlling his thought mechanisms. He must have known he was down on the cards and his performance was seriously hindered by the injury. Really the 4th when he saw the doctor should have been the time to give it a rest.

I think without the cut Barrera would have tested Khan a lot more and probably knocked him out. I always said Khan would start fast and that Barrera would take a few rounds to adjust to Khans speed. The cut made even doing that nigh on impossible.
