It isn't up to the corner to tell the doctor he needs to stop the fight, that's just not the role of the corner nor is it the role of the fighters. I don't know if Barrera would beat Khan but he certainly was handicapped and he was definitely never going to be stopped, Khan never came close to stopping him.
