Pacman beat Marquez respectably...and by that I mean coming at the weight he agreed upon, and having himself weighed just before the fight. Not coming in overweight so he could have the advantage, and then keeping pre fight weight a secret before the fight. Pac-man beats Clottey hands down. Clottey would sit there and let Pac-man whale on him and 1 or 6 of those punches is gonna get through. I hope pac-man puts in the contract for his fight with mayweather that floyd HAS to come in at the agreed upon weight, no excuses, no acceptions. What floyd did by not making weight in that last fight was very disrespectful to Marquez

im pretty sure all fight contracts have the agreed weight in,floyd will make 147 he doesnt need to cheat it

if he did come in at 148,149 in theory pac should walk away from the fight... but will he after training camp and turn down a big pay day

Granted...But i didn't think Floyd would cheat on the Marquez fight either, but essentially that is what he did. I don't know. Something is irking me about this. For some reason I don't think that fight is going to happen

there was a bit of confusion about whether the fight was 144 or 147 lb beforehand.... maybe it was floyd making a point that he makes the rules... who knows, i definitley dont think he needed to do this to win

On that point, I agree with you. He could have won that fight at 120 if he wanted to. I just get the feeling that when everything is said and done, Floyd is going to lay down too many rules, or something of that nature to tank this fight. Manny will fight under any circumstances in my opinion...he'll fight in a pile of shit if it's going to please the fans...I just have a feeling the mayweather camp is going to tank this somehow...I'm gonna start another thread...I want you to tell me what you think of it...it'll be up in a bit

Too much is being made of Floyd's weight. That was one time and Floyd paid the price. The fact is he had been off a long time and while he stayed in shape, he probably wasn't watching his weight and had to come down by a significant amount. He was ONE pound off. Let's not act like the fight was decided by what Floyd WEIGHED.

Correction...2 lbs. off (which does make a difference) and refused to be weighed on the unofficial scale. Who knows what he really weighed in that fight.

i dont think he would have been any lighter on the night of the fight if had weighed in at 144, i think it was more a principle thing of him showing who is boss

I think mayweather not making 144 was bad more because of a respect thing in my mind, I really don't think he would have had any problem making 143 or 144 especially after seeing a bigger Miguel Cotto make 145 pretty easily. I also don't think Mayweather, who doesn't use size and strength, and a huge advantage because he came in at 146. He was too fast and too good for Marquez, and their styles much like Ward-Kessler just don't match up well for the orthodox boxer because their style isn't as good at a distance which is where Floyd kept the fight.

Clottey is pretty big, but he doesn't have a lot of power and he doesn't fight like Hatton on the inside, If he was taller I could see size being a problem for Manny, but Clottey's size in this fight just basically makes him a more durable fighter.
