Trash talking is part of the bussiness. Biggest fight in boxing ? NO WAY. As much as Haye talks (other than BRITS) people won't believe he beats Klitschko (an ATG that has been smashing every opponent for the last 6-7 years).

But then once both gets in the ring. Wlad is going to paw with his left or jab, jab, jab, tries to land the right, then clinch/hold if Haye gets close, repeat and rinse like he has done with every opponent he faces (there's a reason why he's called boring by hardcore and casual fans). Haye more than likely will try to fight Wlad like he did against Valuev (which was a shit fight) and try to outbox Wlad from the outside.

What's wrong with this. A lot of fighters use their JAB and land the right. A lot of fighters try to outbox their opponents from the outside.

The mainstream press will cover the fight, casual fans will tune in thinking that this will be Holyfield/Bowe or Ali/Frazier and will be massively bored and disappointed saying wtf? There will then be countless articles and airtime why boxing is dead and no one cares because the HW division is so shit when the biggest HW championship fight in a decade that is so massively hyped and is considered to be the biggest fight in boxing is a dud.

The casual fans you are talking about are, i think, the CASUAL BRITISH FANS. Yes casual british fans will think its like Holyfield/Bowe or Ali/Frazier, and OF COURSE it won't be, because its not a close fight its more of a 75-25 fight.
And, this fight is no bigger than Wladimir's fights with Ibragimov, Thompson, Chagaev and some others.

It is good to see some excitement in the HW division. The bullshit is immense and I was tired of Haye's trashtalking while he was still at cruiser....and I do admit he did well at the weakest weight division in boxing.

I just hope for a good fight.

I would bet the fight does not happen, but if it does, I bet it does not go the distance.

I give Wlad a massive 70-30 chance in winning this one. As I have said for about 2 years now if both were physically the same size Haye would be a very strong favourite in my eyes - but they aren't and that for me will be the crucial, and deciding, factor.

70-30 was the same way I thought when Mayweather v Hatton was announced (though I admit that after 4 days on the pop in Vegas and getting carried away with the hype by the time fight night arrived I had been converted to 0-100 in Hatton's favour........)

That's ridiculous. This is the biggest fight in boxing outside Pac-Floyd.

Casual Brit fans will buy it. German fans will buy it (60,000 punters). HBO wil buy it. And EVERY hardcore boxing fan around the world will watch it.

Whether the fight is entertaining or not is irrelevant. It is huge.

Its not the first time HBO buys a heavyweight fight and a hardcore fan should usually catch every fight with the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
European fans will buy NOTHING, they have it FOR FREE on RTL like EVERY Klitschko fight (except Britain of course).

I understand you mate, you are British. Its a huge fight, exactly.

I know German fans have it free on RTL that's why I listed the gate - 60,000. The TV numbers could be in excess of 10 million in Germany.

HBO have recently been refusing to buy Wlad fights because they are unhappy with his "boring" fights and level of competition. However, they previously stated they are interested in buying Wlad-Haye.

If EVERY hardcore boxing fan in the world is interested, an enormous live gate of 60,000+, a million Brits on PPV and HBO screening it for American fans isn't a big fight than what is? NOTHING could surpass this match barring FLoyd-Pac. It is a fact.

Really? I know the HBO people might SAY that but the numbers don't bare that out as both Wlad and Vitali have done very good numbers for HBO recently. The MAIN reason for their choice not to air Wlad or Vitali's fights stems from TIME. If they don't fight at 10 or 11:00 EST then it takes extra timeslots from HBO's major money maker MOVIES/TV SERIES .....thems the facts friend.

As for the "you guys" that's for the people who don't like Wlad and the people that believe tha the WBA title holder poses a threat to him.....so when I say "You guys are going to be very disappointed" that's who I'm talking to.

I don't think the fight is pointless, far from it, I think it's long overdue. I just don't think it will be competitive....at all. And don't say I don't give credit to the WBA title holder, I give him his due, I just don't get suckered in to giving him more than his due. I have yet to see a fighter TALK their way to victory. Is the guy good? Yeah he's got skills, he's got quick hands, he's got decent pop, but my issues with him deal with not only his piss poor attitude and loud mouth, but his lack of strategy and his focus on wide looping power punches....he could learn a bit from Holyfield if you ask me. He needs better defense, a more consistent attack not based on 1 big bomb, and he's got to fight in a composed manner. It may seem like I'm telling him to fight "safety first" but I think he should fight to his best abilities and utilize his best attributes...handspeed, power, athletic ability. He won't do any of that and because of his weakness on defense, his weak chin, and his focus on trying to land 1 big bomb he should be less dangerous than Sam Peter who could (and did) take a ton of punishment before getting stopped.

I think he'd be more competitive vs the likes of Povetkin, Adamek, Boytsov, etc...I wouldn't have minded seeing him take on Dimitrenko as that MAY have helped him deal with the height or Arreola that would have given him lots of helpful rounds vs a dangerous puncher....but he's going from the shallow end of the kiddie pool to swimming with Jaws...I wouldn't be shocked if the 1st jab buckled him a bit. You've got to admit it's a HUGE step up in competition for him.

You're delusional Lyle. It's because Wlad is a boring fighter to casual boxing fans and many hardcore boxing fans that's the reason why he's not on HBO or Showtime. It's not because of the time difference.

Explain Mike Tyson fighting Tony Tubbs and Buster Douglas in Japan? HBO still went over there and televise the fights. Or how about Foreman vs Ali in Zaire? Or Ali vs Frazier 3 in Manilla? Or Forman vs Frazier 1 in Jamaica? HBO still went over there to televise those fights. Face it Wlad is a boring fighter and that's why HBO dropped him like a bad habit.

Since you like facts so much. Here are the facts. Wlad is the only lineal HW champ not to have his fights televise by both HBO and Showtime. That didn't happened to Tyson, Ali, Holmes, Holyfield, Foreman, Frazier, Moorer, Lennox Lewis, etc. Only Wlad. You can't spin that.

Easy to explain...... PPV was that difficult or hard to understand? I don't know how PPV works where you are, but where I come from it doesn't block originally schedualed programming because it's on a different channel. Now as for "Why isn't Wlad on PPV?" then yeah he hasn't had many intriguing fights that will make people shell out $60. Also the fights you listed were the EXCEPTION not the rule, USUALLY everyone fought in the US ergo no special scheduling for the fight happening live at 5:00 EST and then a replay at 10:00. See how much scheduling that eats up on a regular fight

If the WBA title holder was sooooo exciting then why hasn't he been on Showtime or HBO? That kind of favors my view of things doesn't it.....I mean unless of course the WBA title holder ISN'T such a hot prospect either and if he isn't why are Showtime and HBO trying to land this fight?

....but you know better than me of course is it some sort of conspiracy that the last Klitschko fight to air on HBO was #1 In America and #2 The highest rated non-Pacquiao/Mayweather related fight of the year? I guess that all had to do with Arreola...oh and Vitali, because it's not like HBO Exec Ross Greenberg said "The fans can't tell the brothers apart, etc etc"...but I digress, you're totally 100% right......totally absolutely correct, you couldn't be more right, you're as right as they get

I'd also be interested to hear what The boxing message board account holder has to say about the shit I have been reading today.

The fight is 99% done but is also hanging by a thread because Wlad has a random, possibly phantom injury... the way the contract stands as I understand it, Haye can plan and prepare to fight Wlad and then Wlad can either pull out or pull a switch on Haye and have him fight a different opponent than the one has has prepared for (ie: get his big brother to fight for him if he doesn't fancy it).

Seems like a typical example of the type of ridiculous shit you get from negotiating the Ukrainian brothers... only this time they've left out the ridiculous rematch clauses and worked it so they can pick and swap the opponent.

Also it's a little hypocritical considering the stick Haye got for his back injury (or whatever...) that Wlad already has something banked and ready to use...

Just wondering what the boxing message board account holder's thoughts on this are?
