Former IBF 130-pound champion Carlos “Famoso” Hernandez offered his prediction on the Gatti-Mayweather fight tonight. “I believe that Mayweather is going to take it by decision. He likes to stand in there and counter his opponents. He rolls with the punches very well and will pick Gatti apart. I don’t think he will knock Gatti out and you can’t count Gatti out as he has a puncher’s chance. Gatti has a new trainer and you have seen an improvement in his boxing ability and who knows, he may try to out-box the boxer. It can be done, even though many people don’t think so. I just believe that the roar of the crowd and the fact that they are fighting in Gatti’s place, and his heart, and him being Italian; Gatti is going to want to knock Mayweather out. That may be his downfall as he may get caught by Mayweather’s speed. I will make it a split decision just to be fair because you can never count Gatti out.”
