Santos-Rivera-Lyakhovich-Beck Quotes.

By Boxing Press August 9th, 2005 All Press Releases

DANIEL SANTOS (29-2-1, 20 KOs)

"I am not worried about Rivera. I am here to do my job. To me, it is like getting up everyday. I do not worry about it because I train correctly. I have been training for three months. I will not try to finish it beforehand, but if I see the opportunity, I will go after the knockout."

JOSE ANTONIO RIVERA (37-4-1, 24 KOs)

"I will be there 100 percent to win this fight. I have only trained three weeks so far, but I just fought in April and am in great shape."

OWEN BECK (24-1, 18 KOs)

"This fight is going to be good. I am bringing fireworks. Training camp has been good, and I feel most confident. I will definitely walk out with a victory. If the people want to know what Owen Beck will bring, I can guarantee a knockout. This fight is a big challenge, but I am looking ahead to fighting a bigger fight against a bigger name."

SERGEI LIAKOVICH (22-1, 14 KOs)

"I feel great. I have had a great camp. I will be ready. I am 110 percent ready, and as far as I am concerned, Owen Beck is in a whole lot of trouble. He is a tough guy, but come Sept. 3, I will have many questions that he will not have answers to."

World Boxing Organization (WBO) Junior Middleweight Champion Daniel Santos will seek to extend his unbeaten streak in world title bouts to 10 (with one no-contest) when he defends against former WBA welterweight champion Jose Antonio Rivera in the main event on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING, Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at 9 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast).

In a must-win fight for a pair of talented, once-beaten heavyweights who aspire to boxfor a world title, World Boxing Council (WBC) No. 7/World Boxing Association (WBA) No. 9/International Boxing Federation (IBF) No. 12 contender Owen Beck will face IBF No. 8 contender Sergei Liakhovich in the 10-round co-feature. Don King Productions will promote the explosive doubleheader from Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
