Showtime Action in December.

Showtime boxing will close out its year with some very exciting matchups beginning with the fantastic showdowns taking place on December 4th at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Headlining the card will be the WBC lightweight championship featuring the champion Jose Luis Castillo versus Joel Casamayor. Castillo, a former sparring partner for the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez, has carved his own place in Mexican boxing folklore by winning the WBC title on mulitple occasions as well as being the man that many boxing fans say actually beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their first fight. Casamayor, the former Cuban amateur standout is looking to get back amongst the championship ranks after losing to current unified lightweight champion Diego Corrales. IBF super middleweight champion Jeff Lacy will also make the first defense of his title against perennial contender Omar Sheika. Sheika has been given more title opportunities than most but he will be seriously up against it due to the hard-hitting style of champion Lacy. Heavyweight contenders Samuel Peter of Nigeria and America’s Jeremy Williams will clash in another exciting featured attraction. Williams will need to be more amazing than man to get past Peter who has looked sensational throughout his career to date. And finally, Greek light welterweight contender ‘Mighty’ Mike Arnaoutis will seek to extend his unbeaten streak when he returns to action on the ShoBox series on December 17th.
