Duddy And Pudwill Make Weight For NYC Boxing Show “Irish Express”

The New York State Athletic Commission offices were abuzz for the weigh ins for the “Irish Express” fight card set for a sold out Theater at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night.

Sixteen pugilists hit the scales under the auspices of NYSAC chairman Ron Scott Stevens just 24 hours before the premiere promotion for Eddie McLoughlin’s Irish Ropes Promotions. The likeable McLoughlin has become everybody’s new best friend, as ticket request were flying as fast and furious as the fists will be in the St. Patrick’s Day prelude, and McLoughlin and matchmaker/advisor Jim Borzell were accepting congratulations from all around, including former champ Sean O’Grady who will be doing the commentary on the MSG Network broadcast.

Ireland’s pride and joy John Duddy was fit, fierce and focused, weighing in at a fight-ready 160 pounds for the WBO Intercontinental Americas Middleweight Championship main event. North Dakota’s Shelby Pudwill tipped the scales at 158 1/2 pounds, looking ready for action as well, and then it was off to his first subway ride for out of towner.

The bout sheet for Irish Express is as follows:

THURSDAY, MARCH 16, 2006
