Ireland Hosting EUBC European Schoolboy Championships In Dublin

19 nations, represented by 160 boxers, will compete at the 2013 EUBC European Schoolboy Championships in Ireland. Boxing at the IABA hosted tournament begins at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin on Monday, July 29th..

Armenia, Belarus, Ireland, Russia, Turkey and the Ukraine will be using a full compliment of 18 boxers in the Irish capital. The Irish squad have been putting the finishing touches to their preparations at the National Stadium in Dublin this week and London 2012 silver medalist John Joe Nevin is backing Team Ireland to do well.

“The squad have had a very good training camp and they’re building up nicely toward the start of the tournament in Dublin”, said the AIBA World No. 1 ranked bantamweight.

“Ireland has a great record at this level down through the years and I would be confident that our lads can build on that this year. The last time out they won ten medals in Russia which was an incredible achievement.

“If they perform to their full potential in Dublin I have no doubt that they will do well.I would like to wish the Ireland squad the very best of luck.”

2013 EUBC European Schoolboy Championships: Nations participating include Armenia, Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.
