The World Boxing Association family regrets the death of Gonzalo Lopez Silvero, and sends its words of sympathy to his family and relatives and friends.
Always loyal friend and ally of the WBA, Lopez Silvero was an example of communication, and sports narrator not only in his native Cuba, but he was also a reference in several Latin American countries, in addition to his extensive career in the media of Venezuela.
Linked to Baseball from a young age, both in the managerial and commentator area, Silvero broke through in other disciplines.
For more than one decade he was part of the WBA Officials Committee, he was also a Supervisor of big fights such as Félix “Tito” Trinidad vs. Bernard Hopkins at the Madison Square Garden in 2001, or Alexander “Explosivo” Muñoz against Martin Castillo in 2004 in Laredo, Texas.
