European Boxing News: Michele Piccirillo, Markus Beyer, Herbie Hide And Willy Blaine

Cuban heavyweight Odlanier Solis makes his pro debut against 40+ veteran Andreas Sidon, 32-7, who last challenged for the WBA Intercontinental title, on Friday at the Arena Gym in Hamburg, Germany. Herbie Hide continues his comeback at cruiser and is in against Czech Pavol Polakovic.

Flyweight Yany Barthelemy faces Russian Ravil Mukhamadiarov while Yuriorkas Gamboa, Arena´s third Cuban Olympic Gold Medallist turning pro, fights Alexan Manvelyan at featherweight. Heavies Pedro Carrion and Oczan Cetinkaya headline in an International German title fight. Steffen Kretschmann have been forced off the bill due to an injury.

Czech cruiser Rudolf Kraj defends the WBC International title against Argentinian Mauro Adrian Ordiales on the Castillejo vs Sturm show on Saturday in Oberhausen, Germany.

WBO Intercontinental junior welter champ Willy Blain faces Pablo Andres Godoy, also from Argentina. Middleweight Khoren Gevor squares off against Uruguayan Wilson Rafael Sosa Pintos in a scheduled eight rounder. Light heavy Patrick Dobroschi, who turned pro with Sauerland Event, returns against Slovakian Richard Remen.

Former WBC super middle champ Markus Beyer could be at the end of the line. Beyer has been sidelined with a hand injury since losing to WBA counterpart Mikkel Kessler in October of last year. According to German paper Bild Zeitung, Beyer says he doesn’t know if he can fight again as part of his injured hand has become stiff and he can´t move it.

Sauerland Event have four guys on Ralf Reiser´s show April 29 in Berlin: junior middle Alexander Abraham, junior welter Frank Shabani, cruiser Martin Kempf and newcomer Adam Lautenschlager, a heavyweight. Middleweight Ebubekir Bulut and lightweight Muzaffer Tosun headline.

Italian Michele Piccirillo has vacated the European junior middleweight belt to concentrate on a world title shot.

Spanish light heavy champ Gabriel Campillo defends the title against Juan Nelongo Perez May 19 in Madrid.
