Exclusive Boxing Interview: Bobby Rimmer

By Jane Warburton September 22nd, 2007 All Boxing Interviews
SaddoBoxing spoke to Manchester based trainer Bobby Rimmer last night to find out how undefeated light middleweight Brian Rose, 5-0 (1), is doing ahead of tonight's clash at the Robin Park Centre in Wigan, England.

SaddoBoxing: Who is Brian Rose fighting at Wigan?

Bobby Rimmer: “Brian is fighting Lee Noble [of Brendan Ingles stable] tomorrow night. This will be a test for Brian, but I believe he’s got all the tools to win against Noble."

SB: How has Brian's training gone for this fight?

BR: "Fantastic. The training with Brian always goes well because he’s like the ultimate professional; he listens and everything you ask him to do, he does. He’s a dream to train. He’s also been sparring with Jack Arnfield [Former ABA Champion]."

SB: You also train former two-time British Super Feather Champion Michael Gomez, who was to fight on the Wigan bill, but is now fighting current British Champ Carl Johanneson on October 19 at the Doncaster Dome. How is Gomez?

BR: “Michael is absolutely firing for that! It’ll be great with all the hard work paying off.”

Tonight's bill at the Robin Park Centre in Wigan, promoted by Steve Wood of VIP Promotions, also features a good super bantam contest between prospect Stuart McFadyen, 6-0 (1) against durable veteran Delroy Spencer, 10-55-3 (1), and Bolton lad, light middle Alex Matvienko, 7-0 (2), also makes an appearance.
