Yorgey Out, Gonzalez In For March 7 Foxwoods Boxing Show

Harry Joe Yorgey has withdrawn from the co-featured bout on the March 7 fight card at Foxwoods. He said in a press release that the reason was “continuing litigation” between himself and his former manager.

He has been replaced in the scheduled 10-round fight for the vacant NABA super welterweight title by Jose “El Cuervo” Gonzalez, 11-2 with 9 knockouts, of Garden City, Kansas, who will now fight Jason “The Hammer” Le Houllier, 21-0 with 8 knockouts, of Portland, Maine.

It should be an exciting battle – Le Houllier is well-known for his aggressive, all-action style, but Jose said that he was already training for another fight and is ready. He said, “I’m in shape already, so we don’t have to worry about that. I feel great right now. I’m a boxer-puncher. I fought every different kind of style.”

In the main event scheduled for 12 rounds, “Merciless” Thomas Mashaba, 20-1-4 with 12 knockouts, of Carltonville, South Africa, will make his sixth defense of the IBO featherweight title against Cristobal Cruz, 35-11-1 with 23 knockouts, of Tijuana, B.C., Mexico.
