Leva Kirakosyan, the Russian born fighter whose last fight was a losing effort in a WBU super featherweight title fight against Manchester's Michael Gomez, returned to the UK in style tonight by knocking out Leeds born fighter Carl Johanneson in the first round. Johanneson who lives in and has fought most of his career in the United States was highly touted as a hot prospect before this loss and received good amounts of coverage in boxing magazines and websites alike. Kirakosyan, who now lives in Spain moves his record to fourteen wins and four losses while Johanneson drops to eighteen wins and two losses.
