Hennessy Sports in association with GoldenPalace.net are today proud to announce that the rescheduled date and venue for the British Middleweight Championship fight against, title holder Birmingham’s Wayne “Mad Dog” Elcock and challenger Dudley’s Darren “Black Country Body Snatcher” McDermott will now be held on Friday, June 20, 2008 at the SkyDome Arena Coventry, the fight will be screened live on Sky Sports.
This “Battle of the Midlands” local derby had to be delayed due to Elcock falling ill with a severe chest infection back in April, but Wayne is now fully fit and ready to be unleashed to defend his British title.
On the undercard will be Coventry fighters James Mulhern, James Flynn, Rhys Davies, Danny Coyle and Birmingham’s Callum Archer who will be making his professional debut in a four round light welterweight contest.
Northern Ireland’s top welterweight prospect Stephen Haughian will be fighting on the card along with Canadian Logan McGuiness, who will be making his debut too.
