Advancing to eight round bouts is Philadelphia's highly publicized junior welterweight prospect, Danny "Swift" Garcia, 9-0 (7). The Golden Boy Promotions rising star returns to the ring December 6, 2008 on the "Dream Match" extravaganza featuring Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao, set to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Garcia will challenge rough and rugged Francisco Rios Gil, 13-8 (9), of Hutabampo, Sonora, Mexico. Expect an explosive slugfest as both fighters possess great knockout power.
"Moving up to eight rounders is something I've been looking forward to," stated Garcia, "I set my sights on getting a knockout every time I step in the ring. Now I will have more time to break down my opponent.
