Boxing Manager Lynch Teams With NFL Star Jacobs

By Boxing Press June 13th, 2009 All Press Releases

Longtime boxing manager Pat Lynch has entered into a partnership agreement with New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs to guide some of professional boxing’s hottest prospects.

“Brandon and I will be working together to manage some of the best prospects in boxing. We anticipate making our first announcements in the coming weeks” said Lynch, who successfully managed former world champion Arturo Gatti’s career from his pro debut until his last bout.

Jacobs has long been a boxing fan, utilizing its training methods in the off-season as he prepared to be amongst the finest running backs in the National Football League over the last few years, playing a major role in the Giants 2008 Super Bowl Championship Season.

Continued Lynch, “Most managers get involved in boxing because they’re fans of the sport and that was Brandon ’s entry. He’s had a taste of the management side working with Kendall Holt and wants to further his role.” Jacobs and Holt are close friends and the hard charging running back has been an adviser to the former world champion the last couple of years.

“One of the key elements of partnering with Brandon along with his enthusiasm for the sport is his experience at a championship level. Nothing came easy for him and the kids we want on our team need to understand the commitment that’s involved in becoming a world champion.”

Jacobs will take in the Miguel Cotto/Joshua Clottey Welterweight World Championship Bout at New York City ’s Madison Square Garden this Saturday night from his customary ringside seat. Amongst those on the undercard are undefeated prospects, bantamweight Jorge Diaz, 8-0-0 (5KO’s), and junior middleweight Glen Tapia, 2-0-0 (2KO’s), both of whom are guided by Lynch.

Other exciting young prospects that Lynch is currently handling include junior welterweight Jeremy Bryan, 10-0-0 (4KO’s) and featherweight Victor Valenzuela, 4-0-0 (1KO).
