    Morrell calls out the big boys in the division  – World Boxing Association


    David Morrell almost fulfilled his dream of fighting in Las Vegas this weekend. The Cuban did it in a great event and in defense of his World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight crown against the Brazilian and London 2012 Olympic medalist, Yamaguchi Falcao. 

    In addition to the main event between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia, the West Indian was another of the night’s attractions. The southpaw is one of the most talented youngsters in the world and defined his fight in the first round against a Falcao who could do little and who went to the canvas quickly in front of Morrell’s combinations.

    It was the sixth consecutive round for Morrell, who has earned his recognition through good fights and convincing victories. He is now a known fighter and names like David Benavidez are possibilities for his next fights. 

    Morrell has already said he wants to fight the best and is willing to step into the ring against anyone. His good technique and punching power are an exceptional combination and a fight of him against any of the elite would be a more than interesting matchup. 

    For now, Morrell is celebrating another victory and the retention of his WBA belt. He achieved his ninth victory and eighth by knockout since making his pro debut in 2019.

    Boxing fans often assume that Ryan Garcia hasn’t had opponents of the same quality as other fighters in his class. That’s why this big fight against Gervonta Davis is going to be extremely important at this point in his career.

    On Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena, all doubts will be put to rest. Ryan picked one of the best in the world and sought the fight at all costs in a demonstration that he wants to be at the top of the sport.

    World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight champion Gervonta Davis will face Ryan Garcia on April 22. With just over a week to go before the fight, the atmosphere in Las Vegas is heating up, 

    Davis is a man of challenges and did not hesitate for a moment when the offer to face Garcia came his way. They are two young, qualified and undefeated fighters who will be fighting in a highly anticipated bout.

    The fight would be at an agreed weight of 136 pounds, so the WBA championship will not be at stake, but Davis gave that concession with the intention of making the fight happen and giving this great confrontation to the public. 

    Garcia comes from knocking out Javier Fortuna in his most recent fight and has been overcoming different personal issues to return to boxing. The talented American is a fast fighter, with good movement and flashy combinations. He will try to take advantage of his height and reach difference against the powerful Gervonta, which makes the fight a very interesting strategic war.

    Hundreds of media and thousands of fans are ready to gather in Las Vegas on the weekend of April 22. Anticipation is growing as the fight approaches and the entire boxing world is on the lookout. 

    Davis has 28 victories and 26 knockouts. Ryan has 23 wins, 19 of them by way of knockout.
