Guzma vs Khan would be great imo.

Never seen Mabuza fight, but you'd have to be really shit to have a win over Kendall Holt to be seen as an 'upset'.
I agree it would be great, Joan Guzman has for certain outgrown the Lightweight division. Obviously with all the weight problems against Campbell/Funeka.

He's very skillful fighter, with some recognition. And Amir Khan would get alot of credit if he won. I know i would give him alot of credit.

As for Kaizer Mabuza, to be honest i hadn't really heard of him either. Until the Kendall Holt fight, which is why i called it an upset. As it totally come out of nowhere, because people thought it was more like a warm up for Kendall Holt, to get ready for bigger and better fights.

But those two fights would make the most sense, there's few prospects with undefeated records. But they aren't really known and it would be a waste of time.

Although Lamont Peterson vs Amir Khan wouldn't be bad come to think of it.

Would he?? The guy is what 36/37 has shown no power since his days as a 126 lb fighter, I don't want to see that fight at all. Khan would get no credit at all, he wasn't getting slated for wanting to fight Marquez but you think fighting Guzman he would?
Because Joan Guzman has outgrown the Lightweight division, he's naturally Jr Welterweight now. He was fighting as a Jr Welterweight vs Ali Funeka.

Where as when JMM moved up, he looked chubby around the midsection. And has no business moving up, Joan Guzman has had trouble making Lightweight limit for over 2 years.

And infact i thought he fought a good fight vs Ali Funeka, i mean with that attitude who would he get credit for fighting then ? you say Maidana is crap, Alexander has been exposed, so who is there then ?

I think Joan Guzman is one of the better opponents he could fight, except for a fight vs Timothy Bradley.

Plus his career hasn't been that hard, its not like he's been in wars like JMM. He's 34 but he's not an old 34, and he's only had 30 pro fights, i don't think he's worn out at all. And he still has some good fights left in him.

Infact there's good chance Joan Guzman could beat Amir Khan.
Guzman had over 300 amateur fights, he has constant hand trouble. Having said that, I agree he would be a good opponent for Khan.

Guzman's skill vs Khan's speed - goodnight Amir

I didn't know about his Amateur record, but i still think he's as good as any opponent Amir Khan could face at Jr Welterweight except Timothy Bradley.

As i said before who else really is there ? Devon Alexander has been exposed and has lost alot of hype, getting an underserving decision against Andriy Kotelnik.

Outside of his punching power, Marcos Rene Maidana isn't really much. I mean i understand why people want to see it, i do aswell because atleast there's that danger element with his power, plus i'd like to see if Amir Khan can beat a puncher fighting a smart fight.

I know he has improved somewhat with his defense and ETC, but again Kotelnik, Malignaggi. Are light hitters and Amir Khan did get caught quite a few times against those fighters, so i'd like to how Amir Khan dealt with the pressure and power of Marcos Rene Maidana.

But again there's no real mega opponent for him at moment except Timothy Bradley, but Amir Khan isn't ready for that fight yet.

So fighting Joan Guzman who doesn't carry a big punch, but has some good credentials and is a very skillful fighter. Who will test Amir Khan seems like an ideal opponent IMO.
