Impact Boxing: Aaron Thomas Ready to Make Return

By Boxing Press October 31st, 2006 All Press Releases

Only two months after making an impressive debut in the professional code, Alsager’s Aaron Thomas is set to make a return to the scene of his inaugural victory when he appears on an Impact Boxing promoted event at Stoke’s Kings Hall on 24th November. The 26 year old welterweight thrilled an avid following last time out when he stopped Darwen’s Martin Sweeney after 1 minute 45 seconds of the second round.

An opponent has yet to be confirmed but a delighted Thomas was unfazed: “It doesn’t matter who my opponent will be, I trust Impact’s matchmaker. I’m just thrilled to be at the Kings Hall again so soon. I have a big following locally and also a lot of people came down from North Wales to see me last time. In fact, because the show was sold out, many of my fans didn’t manage to get tickets last time. I hope they order them earlier this time so that they aren’t disappointed.”

“I’d be very happy to box on every Impact show if its possible; not only do I get a great reception at the Kings Hall but everyone at Impact makes me feel really welcome even though I’m not managed by them. They should be very proud of what they are doing for boxing in Stoke-on-Trent”

“I really enjoyed my first fight,” said Thomas, the Chris Sanigar managed boxer, “it gave me the opportunity to show what I can do. In the amateur game it is all about scoring points which doesn’t really suit my style and I had to adapt to become successful. Professional boxing is more natural for me; it gives me the time to wear an opponent down and to use my power like I did last time out. I am still learning and need to keep busy so that I get plenty of fights under my belt but I hope to be challenging for titles before too long.”

Tickets for the bout which will form part of a seven fight card are available by contacting either: 0845 156 7168 or 0791 746 6829
