Boxing Quotes: Pacquiao, Arce, Chavez, Viloria And More

By Boxing Press April 12th, 2007 All Press Releases

The final news conference for Saturday's four-fight Pay-Per-View extravaganza "Blaze Of Glory" had the eight principals facing off at The Alamodome for the final time before Friday's official weigh-in, which will be open to the public.

Manny Pacquiao: "I know my opponent Jorge Solis has worked hard and is determined to win. This will be a great fight for both of us, both of our countries and all of our fans. But there can only be one winner and I have every intention of leaving the ring the way I came in; as champion."

Justin Fortune: "We never underestimate an opponent. But a physically fit and strong Manny Pacquiao is impossible to beat, and Jorge Solis, you can call this fight Mission Impossible."

Jorge Solis: "When I heard that I was fighting Manny Pacquiao in the main event on pay-per-view I got so excited I started jumping up and down. I couldn't sleep, not scared, but because of the excitement of it all. I came to San Antonio to win. As the saying goes in my hometown, I am taking home all of the marbles. hold the pride of Mexico in my two fists. Manny's winning streak over my countrymen will end Saturday night. Be ready Manny, no excuses!"

Fernando Beltran, Solis' promoter: "Solis is undefeated and he doesn't know how to lose. He is a two-time national champion in a great, great weight class. I really believe Solis will shock The Philippines and the world. Mexico will be very proud of its champion on Saturday night."

Jorge Arce: "My time is now and this will be a historic night. I want to say this to Cristian Mijares: you have 3 days left to be a champion and you better enjoy it."

Cristian Mijares: "Fights are won in the ring not at press conferences and I will give Arce a boxing lesson. Everyone will know my name after this fight."

Brian Viloria: "I am going to take back what is rightfully mine - the world title."

Edgar Sosa: "I know this a tough fight. Brian Viloria is very strong, very fast but I believe in myself and I am confident I will bring the title back to Mexico."

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr: "Anthony Shuler didn't say much at the podium and it's those kind of guys I worry about. However, I plan to look sensational because Top Rank has promised me a very big fight after this one."

Anthony Shuler: "I worked a long time to get ready for Chavez. He is in for a rude awakening about what real boxing is all about."
