Risum Boxing’s undefeated welterweight “Jesse” James Kimori, 9-0 (5), will continue his busy summer in the ring when he returns to action on August 23 at the 680 Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.
Kimori will square off with former Kenyan champion James Kitasi, 9-9 (1), on a show promoted by Sparks Pro-Boxing Promotions.
Despite having a modest 50-50 record, Kitasi has proven himself as being very durable and Kimori would do very well in winning inside the distance.
So far, Kitasi has never been stopped and always give a good account of himself. It looks like a good test for Kimori, and six tough rounds will serve him well in the future as his opposition gradually increases.
Last time out, on July 19, Kimori also got a good work-out when he dominated journeyman Ken Oyolo and knocked him down two times on his way to a unanimous decision.
Risum Boxing is planning to keep the boxer-puncher active during the fall, and a Kenyan national title fight before the end of the year is on the drawing-board.
