WBA Super Middleweight Champion Andre Ward and WBC Super Middleweight Champion Carl Froch will embark on a three-city international press tour to formally announce the most important fight of their careers, The Super Six World Boxing Classic Final, a World Championship Unification, live on Showtime, Saturday, Oct. 29 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast, from the historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.
In anticipation of a fight that pits America’s last Olympic Gold Medalist in boxing against England’s most accomplished world champion, Ward and Froch will visit the three major cities on consecutive days: London, New York and Ward’s hometown of Oakland, Calif, beginning next Monday, Aug. 22.
In addition to Ward and Froch, participants on the tour will include: Ken Hershman, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Showtime Sports, Dan Goossen, Ward’s Promoter, Goossen Tutor Promotions and Eddie Hearn, Froch’s Promoter, Matchroom Sport.
After a two-year, grueling journey, the winner of this high stakes matchup will claim both world championship belts and the inaugural Super Six World Boxing Classic Cup.
“This international press tour is a symbol of the magnitude of this Final,” said Hershman. “Generally, elaborate kickoff press tours are reserved for pay-per-view events.
“In the case of the Super Six World Boxing Classic Final, you have an unmatched accomplishment in the sport of boxing, two men who survived an unprecedented gauntlet and now stand one test away from claiming super middleweight supremacy. Unquestionably, The Final is deserving of this type of worldwide official announcement. I’m very proud to bring a fight of this level to our loyal Showtime subscribers.”
Tickets for The Final at Boardwalk Hall go on sale next friday, Aug. 26 and are priced at $300, $200, $100 and $50. Tickets can be purchased at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office, or by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 736-1420 or online at ticketmaster.com.
