Fight Week Diary: Curiel vs Nontshinga 2

Welcome to the Matchroom Boxing Fight Week Diary in the build-up to the World Title rematch between Adrian Curiel and Sivenathi Nontshinga in Oaxaca, Mexico. Keep checking back throughout the week as more will be dropping below each day…

MONDAY: TRAVEL DAY

11:20am – Not long now until boarding to Mexico City. If you don’t see another update until tomorrow… blame the plane wifi!

10:00am – Undercard announcements for Apr 13 in Manchester out the door and now checked in at Heathrow. Thank you to British Airways for the complimentary upgrade. For someone that is 6’ 4”, can’t tell you how appreciated that is. Flight one is 12 hours to Mexico City and scheduled to land there about 7pm local time. We have one night stay there before flying across to Oaxaca Tuesday morning. Hoping the flight has wifi so I can continue my fight week prep. Had terrible luck with wifi on planes in 2023.

8:00am – The journey to Oaxaca, Mexico for the rematch between Adrian Curiel and Sivenathi Nontshinga begins now. Just a day at home from our latest fight week in London but straight into another. Oaxaca looks like an incredible place. Check out the venue for Friday’s fight, Guelaguetza Auditorium. Nontshinga jumping back into an immediate rematch with Curiel looking to reclaim his IBF World Light Flyweight Title. All on the line for The Special One. Returning to Mexico where he first one the belt back in 2022. If you haven’t seen his FOTY contender with Hector Flores, make sure you do! Total war!
