Jimmy Lange Boxing Update

By Boxing Press November 3rd, 2010 All Press Releases

Ice Promotions officials announced today that Jennifer “The Bolivian Queen” Salinas will not be fighting on Saturday’s card. The Manassas, VA featherweight informed the promotion yesterday that she will challenge champion Jackie “The Aztec Princess” Nava for the WBC interim super bantamweight title on Saturday, Nov. 6 in Yucatan, Mexico.

Jonathan Reid, who was Jimmy Lange’s teammate from season one of The Contender and a former opponent, has been added to Saturday’s action-packed lineup. Reid has been serving as Lange’s training partner the past few weeks in Northern Virginia and will take on an opponent to be determined.

Jimmy Lange Boxing is proud to support America’s Adopt A Soldier, a locally-based, non-profit organization that strives to make a difference in the lives of service members, veterans and their families through a variety of activities.

Look for the organization’s presence on fight night in and around the concourse. Fans are encouraged to make a donation (see website for appropriate items) for the group’s care packages plus learn how to become a volunteer for a 5K Fun Run Walk scheduled for November 13 at Lake Fairfax in Reston. Visit www.americasadoptasoldier.org/index.html for more details.

Fans are invited to the event’s official weigh-in being held at Brion’s Grille (10621 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22032-2200) this Friday at Noon. The popular Mason eatery located across from the Patriot Center boasts an outstanding $8.95 (per person) all-you-can-eat lunch buffet that is sure to be a big hit.

The buffet features a wide variety of delicious options from Executive Chef Terry Walline including homemade salads, soups, entrees, pasta station, desserts and more.

Celebrate a great night of boxing after the event by attending the official after party at Icons Sports Lounge & Grille (10418 Main Street, Fairfax, VA). Fans: bring your ticket stub or credential and pay no cover charge.

Tickets cost $35, $50, $75, $125, $200, $300 and $500 (plus applicable service charges) and can be purchased through Ticketmaster by going online to www.ticketmaster.com, calling (703-573-SEAT, 202-397-SEAT,410-547-SEAT) or visiting any Ticketmaster outlet, including the Patriot Center box office. No additional parking charge (price is included in admission price).
