Norman 'Stoney' Stone, manager and trainer of WBA heavyweight champion John Ruiz has been suspended and fined for the misconduct which had him ejected from ringside during Ruiz's bout with Andrew Golota on Saturday night in Madison Square Gardens. The fight itself was an ill-tempered affair that saw both fighters indulge in fouling and unsportsmanlike tactics. During several brief breaks in the ring action, the always outspoken Stone used the temporary intermissions to verbally abuse referee Randy Neumann. Ruiz went on to barely retain his WBA title but Stone will not escape so lightly as his suspension shall take effect for the duration of sixty days and his fine will cost him one-thousand US dollars.
