Super bantamweight contender Daniel 'Ponce' De Leon scored himself a win tonight over Julio Gamboa and ensured that he remains on the cusp of a world title shot. De Leon knocked Gamboa out in the fourth round and moved his record to twenty-four wins with all but one of his fights ending by way of knockout. De Leon is not known to be a particularly talented boxer but from his record it is obvious that his explosive punching power is more than accounting for that. Chances are that De Leon will soon be launched in the direction of one of the current world super bantamweight champions who are thw WBC's Oscar Larios, the WBA's Mahyar Monshipour, the IBF's Israel Vazquez and finally the WBO's Joan Guzman.
