Veteran boxing manager Jose “Manny” Rivera has joined NER Promotions as its Director of Latin American Operations, it was announced today. “My intention is to help NER Promotions facilitate the best boxing possible by bringing the top fighters from Latin America to New England and the rest of the United States,” Rivera commented. “NER has given me a chance to showcase the amazing talent that exists in Latin American and NER can expect to start promoting many future world champions.” Rivera has been involved in boxing for nearly twenty years, managing boxers and assisting in promotional events at Puerto Rico, Columbia, Venezuela and Dominican Republic. He currently has more than forty Latin American fighters signed to managerial contracts, including several who are rated among the top-rated challengers in the world. “We’re excited to have Manny on board,” NER business development director Miguel Serrano said on behalf of the entire organization. “He has many valuable contacts in Latin America and is very well respected from Puerto Rico to Venezuela. He’s worked closely with officials from sanctioning bodies like the WBA-Federation, WBO-NABO, UBC-Iberoamerican, UBC-World, WBC-Mundo Hispanic and TWBA-World. Manny is going to be a tremendous asset to our team. He will open many in-roads in Latin America and develop talent there for us to fight in the US.” NER Promotions is a new division of New England Ringside, whose other boxing interests include a monthly magazine, weekly radio show (Thursday, 6-8 pm ET on WWZN 1510AM The Zone), and popular web site (www.newenglandringside.com).
