The culmination of the massive media build-up of Joe Calzaghe vs. Mikkel Kessler came to a head yesterday at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff as the two super middleweight champions weighed in in front of a large crowd of photographers, TV cameramen and journalists from all over the world.
WBO Champion Calzaghe came in surprisingly light at 156.5 lb while WBC/WBA Champion Kessler had to strip down in order to tip the scales bang on at divisional limit of 168 lb (12 stone).
The two faced off in a tense moment before Calzaghe started to laugh in Kessler's face which seemed to make Mikkel stare at Joe with even more menace.
WBO Cruiserweight Champ Enzo Maccarinelli and undefeated New Zealand based Algerian Mohamed Azzaaouli also made weight.
