Undefeated WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto will host an open media workout in Puerto Rico, this Friday, July 18. This will be Cotto’s final day working out in preparation for “The Battle!”, the four-bout pay-per-view extravaganza headlined by Cotto’s world title defense against two-time world welterweight champion Antonio Margarito, in a battle of legendary welterweight superpowers.
Cotto, 32-0 (26), from Caguas, Puerto Rico, a two-division world champion, has successfully defended his welterweight title four times since winning it in December 2006. Margarito, 36-5 (26), from Tijuana, Mexico, is 9-1 in world welterweight championship bouts.
Promoted by Top Rank, “The Battle!” will take place Saturday, July 26, at the MGM Grand Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
The Cotto vs. Margarito pay-per-view telecast, beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, will be produced and distributed by HBO Pay-Per-View and will be available to more than 71 million pay-per-view homes.
The telecast will be available in HD-TV for those viewers who can receive HD. HBO Pay-Per-View is the leading supplier of event programming to the pay-per-view industry.
