Cerveza Tecate presents an amazing Friday boxing night from Tucson, AZ as part of its continued efforts to bring the power of boxing to fans across the nation. This week’s edition of “Solo Boxeo Tecate” will be broadcasted as part of Telefutura’s programming
Boxing returns to the Desert Diamond Casino, in Tucson, AZ where Mexico’s former World Champion Jhonny Gonzalez, 38-6 (32), will face Dominican fighter Leivi Brea, 16-6-3 (8) over 10 rounds at super bantamweights.
Currently ranked #3 WBA, #4 WBC & #6 WBO, Gonzalez won the WBO Bantamweight title on October 29, 2005 against Ratanachai Vorapin in Tucson, AZ. He made his first successful defense against Fernando Montiel in May, 2006 and on March 30, 2007 he again kept his title, defeating former world champion Irene Pacheco on a “Solo Boxeo Tecate”broadcast.
This will be Gonzalez’s fourth fight of 2008 and he is 3 for 3 so far, with three knockouts. On April 4, he beat Edel “Cuate” Ruiz with a third round KO and on May 16, 2008, he beat former world champion Mauricio Pastrana in a very heated back and forth battle
Additionally, Yan Barthelemy, 6-0 (0), from Arroyo Naranjo, Cuba, will face Adrian Aleman, 6-3-3 (4), from Cathedral City, CA in eight rounds of flyweight action.
