The Dominican Alberto Puello, first ranked super lightweight, and the Ukrainian of Uzbek origin and second ranked in the division, Botirzhon Akhmedov, will fight for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) world title this Saturday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, in Hollywood, Florida.
Puello and Akhmedov were the two fighters who earned the right to dispute the belt vacated by Josh Taylor and both are ready for a bout that will be a clash of styles.
Puello is a southpaw stylist who knows how to use the ring very well and impose his height and reach, so he is expected to make a very technical and smart fight to keep his opponent away. Akhmedov is a more aggressive fighter who will try to impose his strength and volume of punches to overwhelm his opponent.
Puello is undefeated in 20 fights, with 10 wins before the cut. Akhmedov has 9 wins, 1 setback and 8 knockouts.
