Worldwide Boxing Audience Tonight For Gammer vs. Williams

At the official weigh-in for the most anticipated fight this year in the UK, British heavyweight champion Scott Gammer and former title holder Danny Williams each tipped the scales at career levels as they go into tonight's contest at the Sports Centre in Neath, Wales, viewable outside the UK as a live internet streaming broadcast on 101knockouts.com

Williams stunned media in attendance by coming in at his lightest weight as a professional, a mere 228 lb. This was a shocking measure for a 33 year old man that had not fought below 250 lb in the last four years and validates Williams' belief that his career is over if he does not emerge from the Gammer clash with the British title.

In contrast, Gammer weighed in at 239 lb, six pounds heavier than his British title winning effort over Mark Krence in June of last year. Team Gammer had assumed that Williams would come into the ring at a far higher weight but are counting on the extra bulk to assist in counteracting the bullying tactics often employed by "The Brixton Bomber."

It's a career defining opportunity the British champion, who insists that he'll roll over Williams on his way to world title contention, while the challenger must parlay his edge in experience and power into victory beneath the hateful glare of a packed house awash in his rival's rabid fans.

The Scott Gammer vs. Danny Williams British Heavyweight Title Fight can be seen outside the UK as a live streaming internet broadcast on Friday, March 2, 2007. The two hour broadcast features a full undercard featuring up and coming British stars and quality European veterans.

Eminent sports journalist and four time Sony broadcast award winner Graham Beecroft and retired middleweight Tony Jenkins will provide commentary for the live, two hour internet broadcast.

The first live internet broadcast streaming of a British heavyweight title fight is brought to you by Barry Hearn's Matchroom Sport and Boxnet, who operate 101knockouts.com on behalf of Matchroom Sports. Barry has been involved in boxing for over 35 years, managing such world champions as Chris Eubank, Nigel Benn and Naseem Hamed.
